Language Teaching Research Quarterly is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes research within the area of second language teaching. We aim to publish high quality research to disseminate knowledge about language education to language teachers, testers, material developers, learners, researchers, and practitioners. The Journal publishes articles reporting research in the field of second and foreign language teaching with a main focus on language teaching and testing in different contexts of language learning. We welcome qualitative or quantitative or mixed-methods research. Submissions should not only be methodologically sound, but also have significant implications for the target reader of the journal. LTRQ publishes a series of special issues in honor of distinguished scholars who have played key role in research in this field. It is our vision and mission to cultivate culture and pay tribute to the scholars who have shaped language education field. These special issues are theme-based too as the articles focus on the main research stream of such scholars. LTRQ sometimes publishes thematic issues too when there is an ongoing debate on a topic, like volume 43, which focuses on AI. We have a two-stage review procedure: an initial internal in-house review by the editors and an external double-blind review by at least two reviewers. We publish four regular issues per year, two and/or three special issues in honor of distinguished researchers, and occasional thematic issues annually.
